Amplifier Modification
Modification of an amplifier depends on the type of amp.
A popular mod is the conversion Fender Reissue amps from printed circuit board (PCB) to point-to-point circuit connection. Depending on the model, prices start at $600 (includes new potentiometers, jacks, capacitors, and resistors). Turnaround time is three to four weeks. See info under Fender Blues Jr. mods if you live outside the Twin Cities Minnesota area and would like to ship an amp chassis to me for modification.
Currently I'm offering a package deal on Fender Blues Jr. modifications. $150 gets you the following mods:
If you live outside of the Twin Cities Minnesota area, you can ship the amp's chassis. A Blues Jr. chassis is very easy to remove and inexpensive to ship. Call or email for instructions and shipping info. Turnaround time is one week to ten days from the time I receive the chassis plus return shipping time.
VOX AC4-C1 Mods for $150. Improve overall tone of amp, especially overdrive tone. Gets rid of the shrill, lackluster tone and makes the amp sound more like the vintage AC4. Note that this mod package is for the C1 model of AC4.
Modifications of various kinds can be done to most tube amps with limitations for those using pc boards.
As a rule, I don’t modify solid-state amps; however, there are always exceptions to any rule.
Email me with your ideas and I’ll let you know if it’s feasible for me to modify the amp.
